182-Point Safety Inspection
For a Honda to be considered “Certified Pre-Owned”, it must be less than 6 years old with no more than 80,000 miles on the odometer.
Once we select a vehicle to certify, the first step is for our trained Honda technicians to put the vehicle through a comprehensive 182-Point Safety Inspection.
Each vehicle is carefully inspected on a wide range of systems including:
- Brakes
- Body and Paint Condition
- Engine, Exhaust, and Drivetrain Components
- Steering and Suspension
- Tires and Wheels
Recall Notice:
On February 1, 2024, American Honda notified NHTSA of a STOP SALE and safety recall for the models listed below:
- 2020-2022 Accord
- 2020-2021 Accord Hybrid
- 2020-2021 Civic (includes Civic Si)
- 2022 Civic
- 2021 Civic Type R
- 2020-2021 CR-V
- 2020-2021 CR-V Hybrid
- 2020 Fit
- 2020-2022 HR-V
- 2021 Insight
- 2020-2022 Odyssey
- 2020-2021 Passport
- 2020-2022 Pilot
- 2020-2021 Ridgeline
Affected vehicles may be equipped with seat weight sensors not built to proper specifications. Improperly built sensors could lead to cracking and/or a short circuit of the sensor resulting in the illumination of the SRS warning indicator. In certain collisions, these seat weight sensors may cause improper deployment of the front passenger airbag, increasing the risk of injury.
What that means for you:
A handful of vehicles in our inventory were affected by this recall. Due to the recall, we had to take the Honda Certification away from these vehicles.
Just like any vehicle owner impacted by this recall, we as a dealership are in the same position—waiting for the official remedy from Honda. This recall specifically targets the seat weight sensor as the sole component affected, with the understanding that the seat weight sensor issue is isolated and does not detract from the overall excellence of these vehicles.
These vehicles were originally ran through the 182-Point Safety Inspection and passed the Honda Certified Pre-Owned certification process.
